La Plaza’s mission is the promotion of contemporary conceptual art through public programming dedicated to the exhibition of interdisciplinary, experimental art practices in the Los Angeles region.

Our aim is to collaborate with emerging artists whose practices have yet to be significantly recognized by cultural and commercial institutions, placing an emphasis on exhibiting artists from marginalized communities who exemplify the dynamism of LA’s multitude of communities.

We seek to broaden engagement with contemporary art through integrative connection with our community through programming that actively aims to include the public as an impactful element in the production and interpretation of contemporary art. La Plaza will accomplish this through a series of public programs that complement our exhibitions, including but not limited to lectures, artist conversations, film screenings and community-oriented workshops.

La Plaza proposes art and its production not as the reserve of an elite few, but as an essential expression.
